How a poor product description kills your hair sales!
Often the product descriptions in online stores do not sell
A poor product description on your web store has a negative impact on your sales. Too often we lack the time or inspiration to write a compelling product description. That’s a waste of all the effort you have done in finding the best hair for your clients and selecting the best images to convince the online shopper you have what she is looking for.
The purpose of a product description is to share the right information to your customer, so she can make a buying decision. Too often the descriptions of the products are poor in content and explanation. Some store owners like to copy-paste the content for the various products, without sharing valuable information to the visitor of the website. By doing so thee hair re-sellers are shooting themselves in the foot by getting lower sales than possible.
Free up some time to scroll through your product pages and be a judge for, all the descriptions of the hair and beauty products.
A product description exclusively for your ideal client!
Writing the description for the hair on your web store, you need to consider your ideal client. Your ideal client is the client that always want to buy from you. You have put her needs in the center of your store. You know what she needs and how she communicates. When writing your product descriptions, you need to write with the Ideal client in the back of your mind. What words she is using, what is important for her to make her decision before buying any hair product. If you talk hair, make sure you talk like her!
Tell her what she can’t see
Your ideal client is looking for a solution for her hair problem. Your product description should be an explanation of the solution for her problem. It should show your hair will solve her needs. Let your product description tell the solution you offer to her.
You’re selling online, so do not forget your potential customer cannot feel and touch the hair. You make the feel and touch sensation by providing high resolution images and videos nominated for awards. More important is to convince her by using the right words. Let the reader of the descriptions imagine what it would be to own your product. The magic word here is “Imagine”. Start the sentence with the word “imagine” and finish it by explaining how your reader will feel when she owns and wears the product, your hair brand!
Remember, you are not selling bundles of hair strands, you are selling an experience.

Do not tell what everybody is saying already
When writing your product description, you should avoid using descriptions that are to general. I mean, everybody is selling high quality hair. Nobody sells bad hair!
Instead of describing the quality of your hair, you can describe the bonding method, or how the hair is processed. By sharing these kind of product details, you still can talk about the quality you deliver without telling your client what everybody else is doing also. Be unique!
Less is not always better
When writing for a blogpost, or any text on the internet, the advice is “Less is more”. You should not use too many adjectives. But in order to make your visitor fall in love with the hair, this rule does not apply anymore. Seduce your visitor with the most descriptive adjectives you can find. Do not underestimate the power of adjectives, to increase your sales!
Make your description scannable
Even if you have a small description about your products to share, help the reader to find as fast as possible what she needs in a product. Like, use headlines, bullet points, be generous with white spaces and increase your font size to promote readability.
