See the example Kurly Klips
Seeing is believing, right? This is especially true in the hair extension business. Like for example KurlyLips.com from Lana. This store even made it to Essence Magazine.
Lana tells about her hair store made with Shopify :
I am no stranger to sew-ins. For a decade I wore them off and on, and in June 2012, decided to transition to natural hair with kinky curly weaves. I found a wonderful stylist who provided quality sew-ins and natural hair maintenance. It was an expensive way to transition, but I wasn’t quite comfortable with my hair’s length to wear it freely.

“My business plan helped me critically look at my competitors, not just in the afro-textured hair market, but across the hair extension industry as a whole. In doing so, I found a company that sells a similar product but in a completely different hair texture. As a fellow Shopify business, they totally inspired my brand, along with my terms and conditions. They are like my fairy Shopify godmothers and I want to thank them.”

Free trial for Hair Store with Shopify
If this is not enough, you can have a free 14 days trial. 2 weeks in the end of year super sales seasons. That’s a win-win situation with no strings attached.
Learn from Lana’s success story
Lana was asked what are your top recommendations for new store owners? And she answered, aside from formulating a business plan:
Z
1) Make a weekly action plan of everything you need to do for the week, including sales goals.
Z
2) Social media is cheap marketing that can yield quantifiable sales results. Identify the top influencers in your industry on various platforms and hit them up. You may get No’s, but just one Yes can expose your brand to thousands of new customers.
3) Only deal with honest suppliers. This is especially critical in the hair industry, where some vendors might try to sell you horsehair and call it human. If a supplier gives you any sign that he or she might lack integrity, it’s best to find someone else. Eventually, his or her actions will burn you and your bottom line.
4) Treat customer inquiries with endless compassion. Remember, at the end of the day you want to make your customer happy and hopefully persuade them to return.
What are you waiting for?
You do not need to have design skills
Establish your brand online with a custom domain name and online store. With instant access to hundreds of the best looking themes, and complete control over the look and feel, you finally have a gorgeous store of your own that reflects the personality of your business.
Everything in one place
Selling your products in many places should be every bit as simple as selling in one. With Shopify’s ecommerce software, you get one unified platform to run your business with ease.
Get straight to growing your business
When we say it’s never been easier to start a business, we mean it. Shopify handles everything from marketing and payments, to secure checkout and shipping. Now you can focus on the things you love.

It’s not every week I meet a person that makes me rethink if I am doing the right thing. But I started to doubt after I received an message from Harriet last week. She is the ambitious entrepreneur behind OwnitHair.
Harriet is ready for the next step and was looking for ways to let her hair store keep in pace with the growth of her clients. OwnitHair is different from most other online hairstores.
OwnitHair
The product offering, for example, is not limited to hair extensions. OwnitHair offers also eye lashes and hair and beauty products. For example a wide range of Marrocan Argan Oil. The combination of hair extensions with other beauty products, was the right decision as the sales figures showed.
Harriet asked me to help her to re-design the current website and I look forward to this awesome project. We will start with the ideal client, the people OwnitHair wants to solve all hair and beauty problems for. The usage and likes of the current website helps us to come with re-design a website that will support the further growth.
It is inspiring to work with a women full of passion for her hair and clients. Harriet can no wait to take her business to the next level.
OwnitHair goes for Low Carbon Footprint
As a proof Harriet is thinking one step ahead, she had chosen GreenGeeks as hosting provider. An Environmentally Responsible Web Hosting Provider. Or in plain English. This hosting provider, next to awesome services like webhosting, dedicated servers and a website builder, has one of the lowest Carbon footprints of the business. Not important? Last week I learned “By 2020, the Web Hosting industry will surpass the Airline industry in Environmental Pollution!” A very good reason to go green for your hosting company. Like Harriet did with OwnitHair.
Now the hosting is a good green fingers, we can focus on the hair and beauty business of OwnitHair. Keep an eye on the site, because while we work on the website and service offering, the business must go on!

Hurricane Harvey has harmed all us, all over the world. It is heartbreaking to see how this Hurricane Harvey has made so many victims. From family members, destroyed homes and other properties.
Please know, I have included you in my prayers, and I keep a close watch on the news. It’s also great to see so many people who help others.
If you run a hair and beauty store you need to take care of your business too. Next to the struggle for clean water, fresh food and a roof above your head.
Too bad too many experts agree on one thing, recovery from Hurricane Harvey will take a long time. Find 5 suggestions from U.S. Small Business Administration to give guidance in a recovery to normal business.
1 Register for federal assistance
Register for federal help with FEMA online. This gets you connected with a variety of recovery resources available. This includes housing assistance, grants and disaster loans.
2 Contact Insurance agent
Get in touch with your insurance agent as soon as possible. The Insurance Information Institute has tips on how to settle insurance claims after a disaster, like Hurricane Harvey.

3 Hurricane Harvey Page
Check out SBA’s Hurricane Harvey page. Here you can get information about how to apply for low-interest disaster loans for:
– homeowners,
– renters, – businesses of all sizes, and
– private nonprofit organizations.
4 Loan Deferments
The SBA is offering loan deferments on existing loans to businesses and individuals in the counties affected by Hurricane Harvey.
5 Beware of scams!
If someone tells you they’ll help with your SBA disaster loan application or other forms of federal recovery assistance “for a small fee,” they’re running a scam. Federal help programs are available to the public at no cost. Always ask for identification. Protect yourself from fraudulent building contractors by asking for appropriate licenses and local references.
Again, if you are in any way effected by Hurricane Harvey I pray for you. Please use the information on my website plus the help from organizations like FEMA and SBA.
6 Leave a comment for help or if you can offer some support
Please leave a comment, or contact me, for any advice on how to start selling hair again after Hurricane Harvey. Or if you have ideas to support others to get back into business again!

Home 9 Tag: Hair Extensions ( Page 4 )
For the past year that i have been in Mozambique i have seen the desperation so to speak to look good. Firstly they have limited hair extensions.
Phoebe
An ambitious entrepreneur from Mozambique
Too often it seems there are no hair markets in Africa, outside Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya. But do not forget the emerging markets. What are the opportunities for selling hair extensions in Mozambique?
Today I received an email from Phoebe from Nampula, in Mozambique. She is looking how to start selling hair extensions in Mozambique. I am preparing a market survey for this hair market. Plus an overview of the possibilities on how to start selling hair in Mozambique.
My first step is to perform some search on the internet. To check on Google what is currently available about hair extensions in Mozambique. It shows most suppliers have a presence on Alibaba or Aliexpress. This is not helping, it seems there is no presence of a hair company like Darling Hair from Kenya. Darling Kenya, offer an assortment of braids, weaves, extensions and wigs in Kenya.
Hair extensions opportunities in Mozambique
It’s is clear this country is a niche market. Google trends offer much less information about hair extensions in Mozambique, than in South Africa or Kenya. There is interest in Hair styles and how-to information about hair. But artificial hair integrations do show up in very limited searches.
It seems Phoebe has touched a very interesting market. The hair extensions market in Mozambique. I will use social media to get better understanding of the business opportunities in the hair and beauty market in Mozambique.
Get the all-in-one hair business package, complete with hair samples and launch your own hair store now
I will also contact the women who expressed their interest in hair wholesalers and who live in Mozambique.

If you run your own hair business, you always work on getting more hair extensions clients. But even if your product is great. Or your prices are affordable, sometimes you do not get enough store visitors to sell your hair!
It’s time to use your best kept business secret, your own clients! Start to work with reviews to find more hair extensions clients.
Surveys show that the hair and beauty business is one of the businesses people read reviews about before they visit the store or even buy anything. This makes it very important to invest some time and a lot of passion in getting reviews for your hair extensions clients. Because their reviews will bring you.. more hair extensions clients!
Reviews
1. Understand your clients, off course you know your clients, but do you also understand them? A client may pretend to be happy, but feels the hair was not as good as the first time she bought. But if she likes you, she will not tell you right away. But, if she can share her thoughts in a review there is a big change she will tell you, in confidence, why she is disappointed. Use this opportunity to further improve your service.
2. Reviews are very common, if you do not share reviews, potential clients might wonder why not. Better to join the team and share reviews.
3. If you start publishing reviews, make sure to watch the number of not so good reviews and the good ones. Be honest and share also less, but sincere reviews but there is no use at all to share more bad than good reviews. Make sure the balance is in favor of the good reviews.
4. Confidence. Okay, there is no auditor who will check your reviews, but if you only have 5-star reviews and none less positive or even negative, you might create some disbelieve. People are never ever 100% happy at the same time, store or hair. Publish also the less favorable reviews
5. Reward your clients for sharing a review and take time to listen. You will be amazed how much you will learn from this. After every review, your store will only get better.
Thanks to all this you will attract new hair extensions clients!
10 WAYS TO MAKE PEOPLE BUY YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS
How to start getting reviews?
Start with your most loyal clients, ask them if they want to help you and share their opinion.
Do not forget to reward every review, every review will not only improve your business, it might also bring in new clients, justification enough to reward the hair extensions client who shared her opinion.
Do not be shy, and publish these reviews, Let the world read what others think about you!
Do not wait too long to respond to a client who left a positive review on your social media. Show your appreciation right away.
Get more hair extensions clients
Make asking for a review part of the daily routine and you will have a growing number of reviews. This will grow the number of hair extensions clients in love with your store!
