How to find a wholesale vendor?
A very important question because the wholesale supplier will make or break the success of your hair extensions store.
If you know to find a good wholesale vendor of hair extensions or wigs, you can easily start to grow your network of loyal clients. If you have bad luck and the vendor you selected underperforms your dream get’s affected in a negative way.
So how to find a wholesale vendor?
Before you start to google wholesale vendor hair extensions you have to do some homework. Consider the selection of a hair vendor like a separate project in your business planning.
7 steps to find your vendor
Step 1. Define your business requirements. Know what kind of extensions your clients, or ideal clients are looking for. Know your unique selling proposition, or how to be different. Take into account the time to delivery, the possibilities for samples and drop shipping.
Step 2. Search the internet, visit hair and beauty trade shows to find a list of wholesale vendors.
Step 3. Develop evaluation criteria. Make a list of criteria you want to use to compare the various wholesale vendors. If you prepare a list before you analyse the vendors you can compare all vendors in an objective way. In this phase some vendors will be removed from your list, because they do not fit in your criteria.

Step 4: Conduct Vendor Briefings.
Contact the vendors you selected, and see how they communicate, answer questions or share information. Also very important, see if you speak the same language, I mean do you understand each other. Especially important if the suppliers are located in a country with a different culture and language. The use of the same word, does not mean you talk about the same issue!
Step 5: Evaluate Vendors and check samples
Now it’s time to place some sample orders or to get samples and test the hair. If possible install the hair, so you can experience what your customers will experience. But also analyse the various evaluation criteria.
Now you are able to select the hair vendor you want to order your hair from, if possible consider to select a second supplier, This will mitigate the risk of disruption of your business if the first suppliers fails to deliver.

I would love to start selling hair
Last week I received an email from Marry, who wrote “I would love to start selling hair”. For me this is an awesome opening of an email, because it shows Marry has passion for making people look and feel good.
So good to love to start selling hair, but you need to know where to start. Too many times the love or passion to start selling hair fades away if the love is not answered. In other words, if no sales of hair extensions are made.
What is your mission?
To begin your own hair business, it’s good to start with the question why you want to start a hair business. Is it only to make some extra money, or is it to have an alternative for a day time job? It also really matters to set a deadline, a period you allow your business to grow before you decide if it’s successful or not?
So imagine you give yourself three years, to start selling hair before you lose the love to be in this business. Within three years your business should be a success, have a loyal client base and generate enough money to meet your goal, some additional money or more.
To whom you want to sell to?
Now you know how much time you have, you can decide the people you want to service. Who is your ideal client you want to make feel confident wearing your hair? Make sure you focus on real persons. Do not make assumptions, but interview people at the mall or in the gym. The more realistic the answers, the closer you are with the persons who will eventually buy your hair.
How can you be different?
Ask them the right questions, ask them not only about the hair, the texture or the price level. Ask them about their experience purchasing extensions or wigs from other hair stores, what did they like, what did they find disturbing?
Create your own website!
This will give you enough input to create an offer that will attract many visitors to your website, visitors that will love your hair and thus will make sure you won’t regret to start selling hair!

How much is this hair?
That’s sounds like the beginning of a great deal. But many times there is only follows … silence.
Last month I spoke a very nice woman who had quite a number of followers on Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat. She was able to start the conversation, she received a lot of inquiries and requests for the price of the hair. But hardly any sales. It was clear something was missing.
It was a bit frustrating, to put it mildly, to post a great picture of the hair or a happy client, to get shares, a lot of xx and comments like: Love this and How much is this hair? She replied to everybody, but after that there was silence, no response, no purchase, no thank you.
Why there is silence after How much is this hair?
This is for a great part because how the human brains work, our brain is trained to keep an eye and ear open for things that might be interesting for us. In the beginning of mankind it was the best way to find the fruit that was ripe. Your ancestors walked through the forest and while they talked about family affairs they picked the fruit. But only the ripe ones.
Today our brains still work the same way. Your ideal client watches Real Housewives of Atlanta checks her iPhone and talks with her best friends. Then she sees what she likes, your hair. She responds right away; she likes your hair or she post the question: How much is this hair. Because this is what she is thinking of.

You answer her the moment you read her comment. The more hours between her placing the comment and your response the more unlikely she will answer.
Tip number one:
Keep your eyes on your social media and try to answer swiftly. If possible right away or within 5 minutes.
We all know there are more pictures on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest of hair then fish in the sea. So big change after your gorgeous hair pictures your client has seen other pictures. She might forget you! So now you have to make her see your pictures, more often. Your pictures, your brand name, and your offer. You have to make her return to your account. You already have an advantage, she knows who you are, so let’s keep the conversation going.
Tip number two:
Do her a favor. Like a recent picture or post and leave a kind and honest comment. You are in the business of making people look and feel good, and this is your first chance to make a person you never met before to feel good.
Now you have a relation
Now the two of you are connected, the chance she will respond has increased significantly. This is great and you should keep the relation warm, but because you are in business you have to be efficient too. You can’t spend hours on social media to like, and comment. You have a business to run.

The money they have is needed to buy hair extensions. They always ask for the smallest possible inventory, but fear the pain to say no to a client because they ran out of stock.

You need a sales strategy, to sell you hair. You can only sell extensions if you have a sales strategy that gains the trust of your client. Use the right words, or better avoid the wrong ones. Invest in the relation with your customer. Please find in his post two very important rules on working on your sales strategy.
Rule #1 What not to say
You are selling hair primary because you want people to gain confidence, to feel great. Right? To make your clients feel good, you should avoid to use words that triggers resistance. Instead of using words like price or payment, talk about the benefits for your customers. Tell them about the value of their purchase for example. Or something like “invest in your Hair Style, you are worth it!”
Avoid also the word cheap, cheap hair might sounds great in dollars, but if it is also linked to a poor quality. Your client deserves the best hair for a reasonable price. The best guarantee for a loyal client base.
Make it part of the elevator pitch to tell a potential customer why she has to buy from you.Use only words that show the value your hair will add to your client. Again because she is worth it!
Rule# 2 Like each other
Your sales strategy should include time and effort to invest in the relation with your potential customer. Did you know, most purchases are made by people who like you. Surveys shows, people can even buy stuff they do not need, only because they like the person who offers it. You! The great thing is people who like you, will most probably also want to listen to you. If you tell a genuine story they will trust you. We all know in the hair business trust is very, very important. So if your potential client has gone through these three steps, they will buy from you.

How to build up trust if you want to sell?

5 tips to pave the road to success for a website with many visitors who will do what you want
You know what your client is looking for, you have the hair suppliers who can deliver the hair and you know how to be different. Victory is around the corner! All you need is a web store designed for success.
Before we talk about success there is something you need to know. To measure the success of your website you need to know some benchmarks. The average website or store has a 40% bounce rate, this means 4 out of ten visitors who landed on a page of your website, left your site without visiting any other page. Google will have a very low bounce rate, but if you have a webpage with only one call to action, like “add to cart”. You might have 7 out of 10 people who leave your page. A high bounce rate means you have to attract more visitors.
Another interesting indicator is the number of new visitors; most sites have 60% new visitors. These are people who do not know your business that well. So make sure to teach them about your brand.
How to get a website made for success.
1. Take your new visitors by the hand
If you visit a store for the first time, or any other place, you want to know what this all about right? So make sure you have a clear about us page. Tell about who you are, why you are in this business and what your mission is.
Write one strong headline at the top of the page and use the space below this headline to tell more.
2. You are at the right place
Tell your visitor they are at the right place. I am sorry to say, but most visitors, except for your own mother, are not visiting your website because they want to see your success. No most visitors land on your page because they need something. They need something and that’s about the hair, the conditions and the service.
So make it clear to them, show pictures that tell more than 1,000 words. Do not forget to communicate to your visitors like you meet them face to face. After all there is only one person important on any website or business in the world. And that’s the person who visit’s your website!
Reassure this visitor that every next step is easy, avoid any surprise. Make clear what the next step is in the purchasing process.
3. The internet makes it more difficult to know what to believe. What’s behind that beautiful website?

Your visitor is in different phases of the purchasing process, the buyers journey. So if you have a button to buy your product, make sure you also have a button to get more info or to speak to a sales person .
5. Help your success
Finally, if a sale of hair extensions is a measure of success for you. You need to make it possible. Does your visitor know where to buy your hair, how to buy the hair and where to press? Pick clear buttons, and show with arrows or text where to click
So, make an about us page, be very clear about your offer, put a selfie on your website, let your visitor decide what to click when and give all the guidance to click on the right button.,
