Telling a story as a business, is not the same as telling a story to your kids or cousins before they go to sleep. The storytelling elements

A good story always has three elements to keep the attention of the readers.

  • The Characters, will it be about you, or do you talk to the reader (you).
  • A conflict, describe the problem your reader will feel connected with. What is going wrong?
  • And finally the part where you will be the hero, because you will present the resolution for the hair or beauty problem you mentioned as conflict.

How do you determine characters within a story?

The character is the connection between you, as business owner and storyteller, and your audience. For first-person point of view, this is when the character is yourself. When you use “I saw this” or “I learned that”. Using this type of language in storytelling is more confessional. It can help you establish a personal connection with the reader. You can use this to build authority. Try using first-person when there is a known person, you, behind the content.

As for second-person, the character in this point of view is your audience. The visitors of your website or store. “You will see” or “you will learn”. When using “you” language, you need to understand your Ideal Client. Make it personal for them by knowing their pain points. Their goals. Tell the story in a way that shows empathy.

The third-person is the “she said” and “he said” type of language. Testimonials from customers are a good example of using third-person.

Why are you telling the story, the conflict

Conflict helps build emotional dynamics. It helps to make a connection between you and your reader. Human-to-human connections are the foundation for a successful business.

You are dealing with people. Your goal is:

  • making life easier for the ideal Client.

The profits your company makes comes from a well-thought business plan and customers who believe in you and what you do.

How should you end a story, the resolution?

The resolution should wrap up the story but should also call your audience to action.

Do not copy – paste a solution for a problem you found on another website, be original and trustworthy. You are specialized in solving the needs of your ideal client, so you are the only one who can provide this solution.

WHY are you in the hair business?

Tell the world on your about us page, where your Hair Business stands for. Write down in two or three sentences what your core values are. Here you can talk about quality, customer oriented, attention for your community, product innovation, the environment and charity. This helps your target audience to connect with your hair brand and to build a loyal relation.

Decide on the position of your hair brand in a couple of years. Define your niche, what special place of the market will be yours? Afro American Women who Code? Girls on the campus. Your home state. Finally, how long will it take. Decide about the period it will take you to achieve your goals.

Do not share figures like an accountant or rocket engineer, tell a story about WHY you are in the hair business. It is important to start with WHY you are in the beauty and hair business, because now you communicate with feelings. Your readers will easier connect with your hair brand.

HOW, do you solve the needs of your Ideal Clients

You have analyzed your ideal client, her demographics, her needs and struggles and where she finds the possible answers to her questions and doubts. For your about us page this is the best way to connect with your ideal client. If you tell about how you solve her, or his, needs on the field of hair extensions in the preferred style of your ideal client for sure she will become a returning visitor.

WHAT, do you offer

Some time ago, I was asked to guide as a parent kids from the school of Chantal with some outdoor activities. Chantal is my 11-year-old daughter, very sweet for her father and more interested in music.ly than in homework. The kids could choose from various cultural activities. Main purpose to bring them into contact with music, art and dance.

We took the bike to visit a community house in the city center. Here a dance class was given. The teacher, a young boy, who knew to catch everybody’s attention right away. I write this post while I am waiting for Ashley McW. to call me. Ashley contacted me on the website. She is looking for advice about how to find hair suppliers and what to say to them. How to ask the right questions. I like these chat’s because it is inspiring to hear the ideas people have to start selling hair. And Yesterday for example, I spoke with, Ikiera, a very nice woman from Texas with a brilliant idea. She will turn the hair business upside down, I look forward to seeing hear plan to evolve.

But, I have to be honest, too many times there is no follow up. After a great talk, with a lot of passion for hair, the ideas to make clients look gorgeous and discussions about how the store will look like, there is silence. Again, another dream that will never turn into reality. Again, another beautiful and ambitious person that will keep on going to her boss tomorrow instead of changing the hair business.

Setting up a WordPress blog on Bluehost is very easy. First, we will talk about the costs of blogging:

To receive the cheapest price to start a blog, then choosing the “Basic” plan is really all you need. It’s only $2.65 per month through my link (due upfront in full) if you sign up for 36 months, which is a great price. If you sign up for a 24-month plan, then the price is more per month. You can also sign up for a 12-month plan. It’s a great plan to choose (especially since you get a free domain at this price still!). If you are unsure about blogging, I would sign up for the 12-month plan as this is still a great price and very affordable for one year of blogging.

The Basic plan is all you really need for now, so skip the Plus and Business Pro plans as they are more expensive. You can always change it later to a different plan if you want to (and just pay the difference), so there is no need to sign up for extra that you do not need.

The other item you may want to pay for when it comes to blogging is Domain Privacy Protection, which is only $0.99 per month. This is so that your contact information stays safe.

I want to reiterate why you should purchase at least a 12-month hosting plan. Month-to-month is less effective, and I highly recommend signing up for a minimum of 12 months for many reasons. First, Bluehost will ask you to pick a theme. You can just pick a random one here or find one that you like. You can change it later so it’s not a big deal or just scroll to the bottom and skip this step. Remember, there are many free ones too!

Click on “Start Building”

On the next screen, you can choose “Business” or “Personal” – it’s up to you. Or, you can click the “I don’t need help.”

You now have a WordPress blog. You will have to work on the design and producing high-quality content, of course. Good luck!

Some general tips for how to navigate WordPress:

To sign into your WordPress account, you will want to save the WordPress login information that you receive in a separate email. You will receive this email after you complete the steps in #3 above. This email will include your WordPress login URL (your URL is separate from everyone else’s and it’s the only way you can access your WordPress account), your username, and your password. You want to keep this email safe.
You can add and create new posts by clicking on “Posts” on the left-hand side when you are logged in. If you want to add a page, simply click on “Page.”

If you want to add an image, click on “Media” on the left-hand side.
You can go to “Appearance,” then “Widgets” in order to add items to your sidebar, footer, and so on.
If you are looking for a way to send newsletters or emails to your readers.
